Dear Dr. Satish Mathew,
Greetings to you and the CTVS team of Kailash Hospital! Before I being life anew, I wish to express my gratitude to all those who aided my recovery and journey back to life. Next to God Almighty, the few names that come to my mind are Dr. Satish Mathew, Dr. Shireen Mathew, Dr. Gambir, Dr. Tauseef, Dr. Sandeep and of course not to miss out Mr. Shivlal Sharma.
The calming and reassuring smiles and the sincere disposition of the nursing staff Tintu, Ms Ronia, Ms Ria, Ms Sony, Ms Neetu, Ms Soby, Ms Anu, Ms Jisha, Ms Sindhu, Mr Manu and Mr Binosh in the CTVS-ICU, helped me to ease the trauma of surgery and all the post operative discomforts and pain.
You all gave me the courage to believe in myself and the will to learn to walk again. Without your support and assurances, I would still be wallowing in self pity. It is never easy to turn the life of a loved one over to an outsider’s care, but today my wife and children are thankful to God and happy that they trusted YOU and your CTVS team. Believe me, we have grown to think of the CTVS team as part of our family.
Dr Mathew, my family joins me in thanking you and your wonderful team for your kindness and wisdom during and after the surgery too. Competent and sensitive physicians like you are the prize and pride of the medical profession. We can never thank you enough.
May God bless you, as you continue to work with critically ill patients, to give them a new lease of life and a confidence to surge on. If you ever feel discouraged (which I pray should never happen) just REMEMBER THE MIRACLE YOU HAVE PERFORMED IN MANY LIVES.
Dear Dr. Mathew,
No words are enough to express my sincerest gratitude for the excellent treatment that I received in the Hospital, under your care for my CABG operation on the 18 Sep 2008. Over all my health has improved and I would like to extend my appreciation for this positive outcome. I am much happier now that this is getting cured. It is affected my everyday life, and I feel so much better now.
After my TMT and Angiogram at Kailash Hospital, done on the 6th, which established that there was no other option than to go for a CABG, frankly speaking, I was apprehensive. I was not able to relate that I needed to go in for an invasive surgery, immediately. To be doubly assured, I did a round of all the medical facilities around my place, including Escorts, Apollo and Metro Hospital trying to get a confirmation and to zero in on the Surgeon & Hospital that would suit me in terms of best in class facilities and at the same time keep me comfortable, financially or otherwise. Before taking a final view, I met my Physician Dr. Subodh Chandra, MD on 15th, who was almost insistent and directed that I should have a consultation with you. Accordingly, I had met you on the 16th and immediately thereafter I decided to get myself admitted under your care on the 17th. I was of course a bit surprised that I was not directed to you, by the Kailash Hospital cardiology department, immediately after the angiogram. I shall remain ever grateful to Dr. Chandra for guiding me in this respect.
The care and concern that was shown by the staff and your team of doctors in the CTVS Department of Kailash Hospital to me is a story about more than just the individual pieces. It is a story that reflects on an entire attitude of care at the Department that sustained and nourished me throughout a very difficult time and trauma for me personally, though it may be a commonplace happening for most of you. I want to let you know just how grateful we are to the staff and physicians, at every level of care, who have given their time to me. And I know of no better way to do that than to thank each of your team members for just some of the many, many instances where they stepped in, when I needed them.
At the outset, I wish to thank Dr. Shirin Verghese. She was an epitome of encouragement to me during my 10 days of stay in CTVS department as also was
Dr. Reetesh Arora, who inserted the IV Cannula, on my right wrist, in the OT to send me to dreamland.
Secondly, I wish to thank Dr. Amit Kumar, who always looked harried and also was instrumental in puncturing my throat putting in all those wires and tubes inside and Dr. Aseem Srivastava for assisting you during the operation and also doing my daily dressing of the wound. I am sure both were also looking after me in the OT when I was oblivious to everything.
The OT nursing staffs, some of whom I have seen but others I never have the privilege to meet personally like Ms. Sheela Verghese, Ms. Sajo Mon, Suby George, Pinky and Chetna. I also take this apportunity to thank the OT technicians, some of whom I have met like Mr. Bhupal Ram, Shivlal Sharma, Rajeshwar Pandey and Ashish Mishra. They all took care of me so that I was able to come out in one piece.
Back in the post operative ICU, on the first night, when I was somewhat drowsily awake, Ms. Sreja was always there at my bedside looking after my tiniest needs, throughout the night, not once wavering in her duties.
A small word by of a suggestion would be to improve the food dished out by the dieticians. There are patients of various culture and lifestyles and not everyone can adjust to only the north Indian dishes provided. The rotis seved are course and hard. There should be more variety in the food offered.
I cannot really put into words what it has meant to us to have a doctor who really cares about his patients, who always makes you feel like you are his only patient, when we know this is not true! A “thank you” for that seems like not enough. You are a wonderful doctor and a wonderful person. We have enjoyed getting to know you over the last few weeks. You are caring and kind with a great sense of humor. We will recommend you to anyone who wants a memorable CT surgical experience.
Thanking you and all your team members, once more.
